I like to use the healing properties of plants, herbs and spices. Ginger, peppermint and cardamon are just a few that feature regularly in my diet. I planted calendula a couple of years back and every year I have an abundance of bright orange edible flowers throughout the summer months. Now that autumn is upon us and the last of the petals are dying back, they make way for a spectacular show of claw-like seed heads. I like the contrast in this shot between the different stages of the seed cycle.
