Nature Versus Photography

A showcase & notepad for my photography exploring the relationship between nature & society.

The influence on our lives & the contrast between the natural & the cultivated is truly inspirational. And so, with my trusty camera I enjoy capturing images that evoke through the natural light, textures, materials, forms, perspectives, shapes, & colours found all around us.

All photos are taken by me so remember to credit my work when you reblog. Thanks for dropping by!

  2. You know when you are fortunate enough to have someone in your life who words just cannot describe? Well, here is my someone. My super, smashing, great sister! Someone who loves me unconditionally. Someone who inspires me. Someone who gives me a good kick up the arse when I need it!
Tomorrow sees the launch of my sister’s long-awaited book Meals that Heal. It’s a free from cookbook and guide for folk who suffer from food intolerances, IBS and/ or digestive-related problems. I am so incredibly proud of my little sister and just wanted to share this fact with you all.

  3. So, you may have noticed I haven’t been blogging much recently. That’s because over at End IBS Naturally HQ we have been busy preparing for the book launch of Meals that Heal , a beginner’s guide to anti-inflammatory healthcare & free from cooking.
The book is written by my incredibly knowledgeable & talented sister, Karen who is a trained nutrition & lifestyle coach. And above is a little snippet of what amazingly tasty recipes you will find inside the book.
It will be available for pre-sale in November via Pure Body Balance
If you have IBS and/or digestive problems I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I have recovered from IBS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & M.E through following the free-from lifestyle.
Follow the launch via Twitter & Facebook.
In health & happiness,
Debbie

  5. Words alike flames, they burn

Words alike flames, they burn. Leaving nothing… but ashes, which are never identified, never retraceable, and ridiculously impossible to be put back together again. - Charles Adrian

    words

A quick walk in the country or a stroll in town always takes 3 times as long because as I am forever scanning up high and down low, on things, in things, through things to find the next image to capture. And last Sunday was no exception. Walking through the long grass (& cow pats) of Bishop’s Meadow towards Wells Cathedral was just what the doctor ordered. Fresh Somerset air, warm sunshine and time with the old folks! I was busy snapping away when we stumbled across a sorry looking bench that had fallen victim to an arson attempt. My parents voiced there disgust at the ‘youth of today’ and marched on. In contrast, I spied a leaf of a book, that had been caught up in the flames, as it floated along on the breeze. The page paused - just for a minute, enough time to press down for a photo. It’s fascinating how I found a glimpse of enchanting beauty in that pile of ash and flame-licked pages. Meanwhile, my parents saw nothing but vandalism, a mess, a blot on the landscape. Can beauty be found in the undesired? What are your thoughts?
